SUMMARY:IC2 Toxics in Packaging Clearinghouse (TPCH) 2021 Model Legislation Update Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Presented on April 28\, 2021\, John Gilkeson\, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and Chair of the Toxics in Packaging Clearinghouse (TPCH)\, discussed TPCH’s recent update to its model legislation. In February\, TPCH announced the organization’s 2021 update to their Model Toxics in Packaging Legislation. The update includes the addition of the class of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and ortho-phthalates as regulated chemicals\, as well as new processes and criteria for identifying and regulating additional chemicals of high concern in packaging. \n \n

SUMMARY:IC2 Webinar: PFAS: The New Bad Kid on the Block—and getting worst!
DESCRIPTION:In this webinar\, Jimmy Seow\, Ph.D.\, discussed fluorine-free alternatives for Class B AFFF foams (liquid and vapor fuel fires)\, implementation of fluorine-free foams outside of the United States\, and environmental impacts of firefighting foams.\nJimmy has more than 30 years’ working experience in industry\, government\, and research. His published PFAS papers include: \n\nJimmy Seow\, Fire Fighting Foams with Perfluorochemicals\, Environmental Review\, March 2013.\nNigel Holmes & Jimmy Seow\, Queensland Department of Environment and Heritage Protection Firefighting Foam Use Policy\, July 2016.\nJennifer A.
